The company’s core business lies in providing holistic solutions for fire protection & smoke control system which includes consultation, design, installation, maintenance and after sales services.
With our headquarters based in Penang Island, and a myriad of branch offices in Butterworth, Kedah, Malacca & Kuala Lumpur, we are able to serve clients quickly and efficiently. Our team of professionals are industrial experts with high finesse, trained not just to deliver engineering related tasks but customer oriented service just as well to ensure total customer satisfaction.
The systems used in Colt Engineering are compliant with CIFS, VDS, LPC, NFPA and FM/UL standards, catering to industries that particularly require higher protection such as the oil and gas, petrochemical and semiconductor industries. Besides that, in our ambitious effort to take our already famed customer experience to another whole new level, we have also implemented the Customer Relationship Management System.
Building on our strong foundation in Mechanical and Electrical engineering, Colt Engineering has strategically diversified its product offerings to address the evolving demands of today’s built environment. In 2012, we were appointed as an authorized distributor of Siemens’ comprehensive range of addressable fire alarm systems and VESDA aspirating smoke detection systems. Siemens (Germany) is a globally trusted partner, renowned for its leadership in building technologies and integrated safety solutions. We subsequently expanded our portfolio to include inert gas suppression systems (IG541), further strengthening our fire protection capabilities.
In 2014, we established a strategic partnership with Colt International (UK), becoming the sole authorized distributor in Malaysia for its extensive range of smoke control systems and architectural solutions, including rain defence louvres. Designed and manufactured by Colt International (UK) and its global associates, these solutions are delivered through close collaboration with Colt International’s regional office in Singapore. Our scope of services encompasses the design, supply, and installation of systems ranging from smoke curtains to mechanical and natural ventilation solutions.
As we look to the future, Colt Engineering is committed to shaping the next generation of fire and life safety solutions. We are actively expanding into advanced battery energy storage system (BESS) protection and high-performance water mist fire suppression systems for data centres and other mission-critical environments. Through continuous innovation, strategic partnerships, and a focus on sustainability and resilience, we aim to safeguard the infrastructure that powers tomorrow’s digital and energy-driven world.

Tee Siew Chong founded Colt Engineering in Penang
Colt Engineering launched its own website. GFS was established for distribution business unit within the group.
Expanded our product line by becoming an authorized distributor for Siemens Fire Alarm & Gas Suppression Systems (FM200 & IG-541)
